MODS skis on a Nytro

I will be running MODS on my Nytro this season..
I doubt anyone else was running them, unless they did a custom saddle build of some sort themselves. As Lance just made up a set of 'tops' for me, first time for a Nytro style mount by the sounds of it.

Pretty excited to get some skis back on!

I've been running Mods on my sleds for 6 seasons now. They sidehill like crazy but they do have a few shortcomings. The rounded keel on the bottom can be slippery especially for slow speed manouvering.Weight wise they are pretty equal to stock another thing is the wear bars don't seem to last very well. I made up a set of wear bars out of 3/8" (I think?? might be 1/2") square stock. They last much better that the round bars and they help the ski track a bit better.

Lance has sent me a couple sets of a different type of wear bar he has. It appears to be a square stock welded on to the bottom of the bar. I'm going to be running them this season.
The non carbide bars wear very fast.
I replaced them w/ carbide ones and they weared (or lack there of) much better.

The stock Nytro skis feel way to 'aggressive' keel wise in setup snow, and this is where I think the MODS will help as well, making steering a bit lighter.

A forward rider sled probably also helps with this, adding more ski pressure. Specially the heavier nosed 4 strokes.

For me, it is a good ski that matches my riding style..and me.

I'm familiar with mods as I have some on my last five sleds. I was just wondering if they are as good on a nytro.

I was told the apex model mods with different bushing will fit on nytro.

IMHO carbides are a must, the standard or SS wearbars wear way too quick. Albeit carbides are overkill in the mountains they work great getting to and from the hills.................SRXtreme

1 ski done. :)

The new saddle works great.

Thanks Lance!
