model year identification

Recently traded for an "06" 900 switchback, as the bill of sale, registration, and previous owner stated. But manufacture date on tunnel is 7/2005. Is my sled actually an 05? I know some vehicles are like this(example: 11/08 man. date is a 09 model)


can someone clear this up for me? thanx in advance.

July 2005 would be a 2006 Model year... most sleds start rolling in to the dealers in September and October, so that would put the build date on your sled about 2 months before that... right on schedule!

Both of my sleds were manufactured in August of the previous calender year... August 04 = 2005 model (900) ... August 08 = 2009 model (700)
