Modding kicker

Any of you mod or lengthen out the kicker? My boot hits the edge of the frame and brake guard which makes my boot slide off the side of the kicker on my 500. My inner leg is all beat to hell from this and it jamming up into it. Thinking I need to add like 2" of length outward so I can get my boot a little farther out. This thing is hard enough to start without all this and I don't have the cash to do electric start his year.

I also have really big pegs so my boot doesn't clear those for crap either, thus losing valuable kicking distance. Am going to drill some aluminum shaft and secure it with a set screw to try this week and weld some on if it works out.

Yes. I drilled out a piece of one inch round stock that was knurled. Made it long enough so whole boot would fit on it. Pounded it on and welded it. 100% better.

Do yourself a favor and get a decomp valve mounted in your head. Adam Millar does a great job and its pretty cheap. Best mod you can do on a 500. Starting becomes a non issue as easy as a 125 or less. You don't have to wail on it and the bike wont rip your leg off. It also reduces the stress on the weak point around the kick start case. I think he stocks them. I would install one even with the estart kit.

Added 1.5" of length it of 2.25" aluminum shaft. MUCH better!
