Mod '13 800 Pro running problems

Help. I'm running a '13 800 Pro with PAR pro ultimate combo (PAR 13.6 cyl. head, CPI exhaust, PC5 fuel control) and PAR clutching for this combo (MDS weights, helix and springs to match) sled runs great with improved mid range and throttle response before it falls on its face at 7200 rpms, sometimes I will see as much as 7700 and everything in between but never above 7600-7700, and when it peaks out at whichever rpm its usually associated with a loud pop from the engine. it does this at all elevations, and no engine lights ever associated.

I am thinking it could be the VES valves not opening or not opening enough and i plan to take them apart, maybe too heavy of a spring?? (stock, orange springs) maybe sticking?? plugging off the solenoid only makes the popping worse.

so i will look at the VES valves and call Brad at PAR but ANY OTHER IDEAS??

Thanks Much in advance!!

pull your TPS connector off and see if it has moisture in it..dry and use dielectric grease on the connector.......how many miles on the sled, what other mods? did it run good before mods?

Another quick check that can cause all sorts of issues..check throttle lever freeplay..it should have almost zero slop..if it gets very much freeplay it will cause issues with the single contact safety switch(yes even at rpm)..adjuster is inline at the bars....

wheres the TPS connector? do i have to pull the 'hood' off to get at that wiring, or is it accessible from the side panel?

LOL..you sure you want to know? hood is fine on..but you need to pull the secondary clutch off, and maybe the clutch guard(with all the electrical stuff on it) but I can usually reach around the guard and get it..it should have a zip tie holing it onto the sensor as well as the connector clip....

par.

thanks.

clutch springs are good, almost positive it is associated with motor, either exhaust valves or motor.

pj give us a call we haven't sold this as a combo for over a year so I am not sure where you got it but I can help you out.

I have a good map that I will help you out with .

Do you need a PC5 with just a head and can? The pop says too much fuel. Check piston wash. If the dooms are clean no carbon check the PV5 settings.

its rich, NO piston wash, plugs are dark coffee brown to black. thought it might just be that I jacked up the oiler to 30:1 and am running premix for break-in.

thing is it never did this stock. even with the rich oil condition. plan is to eventually back off oiler to 40:1 and run a pint in each tank

Just sent you the map to your email:face-icon-small-coo, this is for the SLP pipe FYI...check with brad to make sure it will work before running.
