I debated putting this in the trucks/trailers forum, but I know this place gets a lot more traffic. I am looking to put a dvd player in the Yukon, my truck that I just traded in had one and we spoiled the kids with it…..now all hell breaks loose on trips without it. I found one made by Boss Audio that is really cheap with a lot of nice features (built in IR tx, FM modulator, audio and video input/output, TV tuner, remote). The thing is like $225 from buy.com, new in box not refurbished. The only thing I can tell from Boss’s website is that it is most likely last year’s model. Anyone here any good or bad things about this brand, or brands that may be more money but worth it? Anyone ever installed one of these in the past? I know I will have to cut my head liner and remove the stock lights to install the player, I am hoping that GM runs power to the location standard on all Yukon’s so if the dvd option from the factory is chosen it’s a quick plug and go. Anyone know anything about this? I know you can buy them new off the showroom and have the dvd added for the same cost it would be if you custom ordered the truck, and once they get the player from GM it takes about an hour to get it done. If I do have to run my own power, where would I want to pull my 12V DC from so the player turns off when the door is opened (just like radio, window functions…ect)? I don’t want the player to be accidently left on after the key is off and run my battery down overnight. Thanks for any input!
