Missing Anti-Freeze

Ever since I put a PAR head on, I seem to be losing antifreeze. I warmed up the ole 800 and pulled both plugs, neither are white, however the mag side spark plug hole steamed or what appeared to be steam for a minute or so the pto side did not? Could I have a bad O-ring on the the mag side??

I noticed the same thing. In my case, I have narrowed it down to the bleeder screw gasket above the t-stat. Will be checking it again next weekend in the mountains.

Double check the hose clamp on the rear passenger side of the head. Mine lost tension and I had to add a screw style clamp

Did you add some "goop" to your head bolts when you re-installed them? I had a buddy who didn't and he was leaking antifreeze our around the head bolts.

Secondly, be sure to re-torque them after riding the sled or getting warmed up the first couple times.

Lastly, it can take 3 or 4 rides to get all the air out. I would just be patient and watch it. If you start smelling a sweet smell coming from your exhaust, then you may have a pinched o-ring.

good luck
