Minor mods question (Foam and Vents)

After reading what Ron has to say about the p85 clutches, I'm thinking about removing my side panel foam.

Everyone else doing this on the new Pro's?

Also curious what vents are the most used/popular for the new Pro's

Had a gold finger ordered on ebay and the guy ended up taking forever to ship it basically flaked so I had to open a claim. Everyone seem to be using left hand throttle kits also?

Thanks!

Removed my foam, think its there for sounds levels.
As for a gold finger there's no need (back country riding) as they say you shouldn't be taking your right hand off the grip.

My humble opinion.....

Run it stock. Leave the foam in and the vents as they are. I usually get over 1000 miles out of a belt. Plus, this saves the time, hassle, and money of chasing the dream of these "mods" doing any good. Where i ride, the vents are usually covered up with snow anyway. What good are they doing? none! To the best of my knowledge, the foam has NEVER been soaked to the point that it adds more weight to the sled, plus it keeps the engine noise level down :)

Just a thought . . .

Cheers!

PS...i have a Goldfinger lefty for $50 if you still need one :)

Foam in, no lefty.

Tried one a few years ago on my old sled. Never used it much, then the first time it stuck wfo on me, I took it off faster than a fat kid could eat a twinkee. If you aren't on the handlebars with both hands you aren't in full control of your sled. How much can you control steering with 1 hand on the mountain strap? Not near as much as if your hand was on the grip...

As to the foam in, I just haven't had a problem with it getting soaked.

Cool, thanks for the replies!

I'll keep the foam in and see how it goes. I havn't had any issues with it getting wet yet but I havn't had an over the hood pow day either.

The lefty, I had one that came on my old sled when I bought it used but used it mostly when my finger got tired from holding three carbs open for a long time.

lefty is personal pref..
i miss having one, quite often.
it gets frustrating when you need 'all' your weight on the left side in tight/tech situations.

yeah, maybe i'm just a ****ty rider..i dgaf.

i have never had an issue w/ my leftys.
it helps me more than it hurts.
if it doesn't work for you, don't use one.
simple.

foam removed, but the pro's foam isn't nearly as obnoxious as my past Doo's.

vents added: guage cage, 2 in the upper cowling/plastics, 2 clutch side, screen behind foot wells.
