Minneapolis to Togwotee Pass

Found it in an old post as I was looking for the same

35 to I90, south at Rapid City. Then over to 25 and 20.

To lava they said 16 hrs. So maybe another 30 or so to Tog lodge.

We're leaving early Tuesday morning from the cities here and can report on how long it takes us.

Depends on the what part of the city you leave from, road conditions, and how fast you drive. Pulling 4 sleds 72 - 74 across SD and any other interstates with stops about every 200 miles (smaller 2500 tank) you can expect 18 1/2 to the lodge. You could make better time but would sacrifice fuel costs considerable. We generally leave about 1/2 mile West of DT.

Cheers
Shawn

Right on the money. Takes me about the same. Alot depends if you have a head wind. I usually get it both ways.:mad:

Thanks for the additional posts guys. We're loading up tonight and hitting the road about 4 tomorrow. Sounds like should be good timing for some great snow out there.

Took the path I posted above.

left white bear lake at 434 this am and arrived here at lava exactly 17 hours later to the minute. included fuel stops about every 200 - 220 miles.

took longer than usual in Dubois trying to find some food.

Other than that, roads were dry, clear and without issue.

1050 miles door to door for us.

That is good time!

Did you take 79 to 18 to 20

or did you go south of that

The 79 to 18 to 20 to 25 route is the way I normally take!
