Minimum hunting age survey

i agree completely it does scare me that kids with parents that were not responsible in teaching them how to properly handle fire arms, will be out there but the thing is even if the government gets involved the same kids will be out there, its not the government that needs to step in it the parents

kids can be just irresponsible at 18 as they are at 5 without proper supervision.

I wanted to make a user name (something anti-oba..) so I could put the comment:

"Good thing there isn't an age restriction on poaching"

Just to stir it up a bit, but decided it wasn't worth the effort :D

Its a tough one to call because every child and parent is diffrent. I have been around guns my whole life, but was tought at a very young age the right and wrong ways to handle guns.

Most will agree some will not im sure.

I started taking my oldest son hunting when he was 5. I will not let him hunt unsupervised until I see that he is ready. I started hunting on my own when I was about 12. John is 10 now and the lucky SOB is going on a deer hunt on the 1st of August. I haven't been hunting in a few years but he goes to Alaska every summer to stay with his best bud. His dad was my hunting buddy so he takes John hunting with him. He is not going to be allowed home if he doesn't have a box of venison with him.:D

ive grown up hunting and wouldnt give it up for anything... the wonderful experiences that i have had with my family will be in my mind until the day i take my dirt nap.

thank you mom and dad for bringing me up right :)

and heres on of my bro (nitromaniac) and a prize :beer; i will see if i can find the pic of me and my prize

Hell yeah, I grew up around guns, no way the government should be able to tell us "too young"! The birds/squirells around the place had a significant drop in population about the time I turned 11. LOL!

I learned young and grew up shooting guns, and passed that on to my boys who also know how to properly shoot and handle a gun.
