Mini Bikes and ATV's Banned.

that is BULLSH!T!!! and planes can still run leaded fuel?? what on earth are they doing... now its illegal for the younger of us to get out and ride??

I know Bush signed this Bill into law in August, but for the life of me, I can't believe he was intending for this to happen. I think he was looking more at the toys for kids (blocks, cars, ect...) build in China. Maybe I'm totally wrong, but this dosen't make any sense. Now you're going to have children riding adult sized sleds/ATV's (which I did) and when one dies or gets hurt, there goes the rest of it. When we got hurt, we were told to slow down and pay attention. I am SICK AND TIRED of the gov. telling us how to live our lives. Some people really do need told what to do to keep themselves and most importantly their kids safe, but not all of us.
I had my eye on a Z 120 for my son...should have acted quicker...guess he can ride my 1160! Is this a permanent deal, or can it be resolved? I just don't know much about it. And props for the comment on the other post about wanting to keep drugs out of the hands of our children, yet they're taking away things that prevent our kids getting into drugs.

Most of the lead is in the cables and the engine. Alot of BMX bikes had problems with cables too. On a side note Unadilla in NY is not doing any races but for the pro's for fear of being sued. They don't want anyone to think they are supporting bikes that are un safe. So one can assume that most of the major tracks are going to Axe the amateur program as well.

Im not sure if i understand all this, but it only applies to machines with engines smaller than 85cc? And it is only a lead content issue? Who cares if they contain lead? My take on it is that if you are old enuff to ride a mini atv then you are probably old enuff to know that you shouldnt chew on the motor mounts!
i just picked up a brand new can-am 70 last month for $900 out the door!!!! now i know why!!!!! thank god i found teh money for that deal. this sucks if my son is not aloud to race till he is 13 that will suck real bad!!!! he loves racing. he has only enterd one race so far (he is 4) if thats his last till he is 13 that just sucks!!!!
