I had the same idea.

But now that I have used one at work I would say that the head is to big to turn at the right angles to get a good view.

I'm trying to put it down a 4" casing and can't get a good look.

I have used the snap-on version and it works well. just have to look in the plug holes, exhaust port and can fit it down the powervalve holes as well, to see it all. color screen makes it look as you would see it normally. works good to find dropped bolts etc. under the motor too.
 
The 3/8 head ones are too big. You can buy them with 8mm heads(not exactly sure on the size) There are a few out there. The bigger ones won't fit through the spark plug holes on the 4 strokes. I have been looking at a few different models just recently, gonna pick one up for the shop.
