Milton Friedman explains to Phil Donahue about Greed and Capitalism

This is only 2+ minutes long. What struck you as glaringly absent in this interview?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWsx1X8PV_A

I don't know, looked like Phil walked into a intellectual gun fight, with a lolly pop.

Phil was completely out of his class. He's all talking, feelings, and Friedman is trying to explain that without reward, the best you can do, is drag us down to their level. I'll have to find the rest of that interview.

I'm not sure what was absent but what came to me with this is I would be interested in seeing some demographics of liberals. Age and income. Then on the income side of things where the income is on the low end, I would be interested in race and regional history. I am not sure why this just came to me from this video, maybe time frame.

Interesting questions, but I think you already know the answer. ;)

Yup, that's what I found strikingly absent was Phil interrupting and talking over the guest and the audience was silent instead of booing and hissing or applauding.

Sigh...to get back to civility and manners.

I got the impression that even though Phil didn't agree with Friedman, he really respected the guy.

Nobody could describe societal tough love and personal responsibility like Milton, his lessons could go along way in Washington today. Things are getting ready to snap back in a ugly, probably violent kinda way.
