I just read this headline from the Associated Press in my local paper. The fact is that the social security trusties have decided against a cost of living increase for social security next year, based on the fact that we have actually been living under deflationary conditions so far this year.
So the AP automatically classifies this as cutting payments? The third paragraph of the article actually explains that it is against the law for social security payments to go down. No wonder why we are in such serious trouble.
