Mill Hollow Avy

KSL is reporting an Avalanche in the Mill Hollow area (West Fork of the Duchesne) They are saying two helicopters have left the scene headed for Primary Children's with a 7 and 14 year old. Everybody say a prayer, hopefully someone doesn't lose their little ones tonight.

Tragic

Apparently they walked over to the edge and they either fell off or a cornice broke. Fox just reported that one boy has died and the other is in critical condition. I'm pretty sure the 14 year old is the one that passed away. They said it took their father two hours to get them dug out.

My heart goes out to the family and my prayers are still with the little guy.

Gut wrenching!!! I'm heart broken for the family! I'm sitting here with my guy waiting for his race to come up and I could not even imagine being without him! Thoughts and prayers go out to the family!!

It can happen so quickly and seemingly innocently. Be safe and love your kids while you can. I'm sure these parents aren't thinking, "wow, I wish I woulda worked more or spent more time away from these boys." Don't let let life get in the way of loving and spending time with your kids. You never know when something like this could be the end. What a sad deal, I can't imagine te helplessness the dad must have felt when he was blindly digging into the snow knowing that every minute that passed was less of a chance they'd survive. Truly gut wrenching.

The word of every single avy sends chills down my spine. The thoughts of this family losing two young sons to such a freak accident is hard to fathom. My heart felt thoughts go out to this dad, and all affected by such a great tragedy. Some good words of wisdom in this thread about giving our kids our time and love every day!
