milky oil

Just bought a 12 1100t with a Evo SC 290 kit on it. I got it home and started taking off the panels etc. Looked at the engine oil tank and the site glass is full of white oil. The fliud level is almost to the top of the filler hole. I checked the antifreeze level and it is down a bit but not really low. What kind of a mess did I get myself into? Anyone else have antifreeze in oil problems before?

You can send a sample to blackstone labs - they can tell you what is in the oil. Let us know if we can help.

What kind of intake does it have on it? I would assume that it has the upper Evolution intake system, which is great. If you don't keep the vents covered you can ingest water when it rains or when you are washing the sled. You can pull antifreeze through a water pump seal or a turbo section. There are such a variety of ways it can get it that it is hard to say good or bad. If it is off colored brown or black, probably not a big deal. If it is white, it may be a big deal.

I will go with what Evolution said. Send it in and have it checked. Next change the oil before running it anymore. The res should only be to the level in the window.

Where are you located?

Thanks for the comments. I am going to drain the contaminated oil and flush it a few times. The water in the intake makes sense because the coolant is not too low. It does have the cold air intake on it and the housing around the mesh filter is cracked. It was sitting outside in the rain and also just washed before I picked it up.

Definately want to be careful when washing sleds with a hose of pressure washer. And when complete I always start the sled and allow the engine to come up to full operating temp to elminate any moisture that got someplace it should not have. These sleds as made to handle some moisture from melting snow but are not made to be submerged.

I hate to even suggest it but pull the seat and see if it is ridiculously heavy? Maybe this one went for a swim? Either way just check things out.

One reason EVO intake was promoted as to the frog skinz
Over the intake... Jim @EVO went as far as to display a garden hose
running water over the intake as to convey no worries from
NORMAL static water weight...

Pressure washer or a dive in a water might have negative effects..

I drained the milky oil and changed the oil 3 times now. It is still a bit cloudy so I will flush it one more time before I put in the final oil. I bought the sled from a dealer. I have a feeling some incompetent person thought the oil tank was the coolant tank and filled it up or there was an aweful lot of water forced into the intake. I caught a sample and will send it in. There is actually a mark on the inside of the intake hose where the water had been sitting. It seems to run good while up on the stand between oil changes.

What dealer did it come from and do you know the previous owner? You can pm me with details if you like. I know all the SC kits in Canada as I would have sold and or installed them. I know the history on most.
