Mid sized truck deck

I have a 2007 ford ranger FX4 level 2 and currently to load my sled in the truck I am using a big hunk of wood to get the sled up and over the wheel wells, tail gate off and a ramp. Not to mention about 100 F***ing tie downs:mad: haha does any one have any better ideas?

I haul my m1000 in my 92 ford ranger. I designed a ramp that plugs into my reciever hitch just like a stinger it rotates at the end of the bed and tilts down to load and unload and once loaded the center of mass is directly over the wheel wells and the ramp tilts down into the bed and sits ontop of the wheel wells. I know my desription really sucks but if you are interested I can take some pics of it. It cost me about $200 in materials and I built it myself. It looks a little funny but works really well and beat the hell out of a trailer.

Yah, I have seen a fiew of those around but th tung weight on my hitch is only rated to like 400 lbs...:s I have an 08 nytro comming in at llike 600+ lbs loaded up, so i really dont want to brake anytihng. HAHA and im only 19 so I dont really have any welding exp but my friends dad said he would help me if I came up with somthing

Maby purchas a heavyer duty hitch? I dont know:face-icon-small-sad

and does the sled shake around lotts over bumps on yours? cuz I was talkin to a guy that had one on a tacoma and he said it worked well but klanked around like crazy back ther hahah...he was a bit of a :beer; though if ya know what I mean.

If anyone else has another idea I am all ears. I just use like a broken pallet that I jacked for a store, a peace of wood to get the sled on thepallet. Of course this is after you ride it up my 100pound laminated ramp haha. I altimitaly would like to be able to leave the tail gate on so when the sled is out I have you know...a gate. BUt id this is impossible on a small truck I understand.

get some 2x6's and make a mini single sled dec in ur box just to clear your wheel wells, then u got an area underneath for a ramp too, can easily make it for under 200$$

My sled fits in my ranger fine, if yours wont fit between the wheel wells, just have one ski on top one wheel well. I just run a tie-down through the front skis, it's a heavy machine, it's not going anywhere.

FWIW I made a nice loading ramp/dock for at home, i used of 2x6"s for the frame and 1/2" ply wood for the topsheet, ride it right into the bed. I'm going to cut up a old bed liner and mount it where the skis ride up the ramp so it glides better and add a couple 1x2"s horiziontally across the ramp for traction so i don't have to carry so much speed up it. Theres always a snow bank around for loading up at the riding area.

ranger deck

I made a custom deck with a ramp for my ranger (sold now) but still have the deck . it's just like a full size deck ,cut down to size. Plus I was running an 8" lift kit with 35". the deck fits just over the wheel wells with the ramp under it , I am also running a tnytro .
