Got my kit and a friend's apart changing bearings mine has got the 20 tooth on top and 17 on bottom , his is 20 20 tooths , I guess my ? Is is mine higher geared or lower geared im thanking high , which set up works better? Can I run the 17 on top and 20 on bottom to gear down? Mine is the 1.75 121, going on a 13 ktm 300 xc with 6 speed and a few power mods, thanks for any input!

Got to looking on TS web page and looks like the 17 tooth comes stock on the upper shaft and the 20 on bottom, the guy I bot from must have swapped around the sprockets.

I would swap back to 17 on top and 20 on bottom for a bit, then maybe try it the other way around. Not sure how it will affect a 2stroke engine, but on my YZ450 17 on top was good, 20 on top and 17 on bottom was almost too much for the bike to pull, but in spring conditions was ok. never did try a 17-17 or 20-20 (1:1) ratio on that bike.

edit: we will have to hook up for some rides this year, you still runnin that beast sled too?

Thanks, ill put the 17 on top .I'm thanking that will be the best for the 300. No I sold the Turbo Yamaha to a friend that rides with use. Will have to meet up and ride the bikes for sure!

I would stick with the stock gearing. 17, 17 on the J-shaft and a 20 on the bottom drive axel. This is going to be the easiest on your clutch and transmission. If you do end up messing with the gearing you do need to take in consideration the proper chain tension. Some gear configurations will not work due to the chain being to tight or loose. If you end up wanting higher gearing a good combo to go with is 1 tooth bigger on the engine and 1 tooth smaller on the inside J-shaft gear. This will give you a double gear up.
