MH chaincase question

Looks like in the chaincase on my 2013 kit, the masterlink is riveted. I would like to run a clip style masterlink, so it would be easy to pull chain to spin jackshaft and keep an eye on the brgs. Anyone done this and not have the clip knocked off?

Has any one used a non O ring chain to free up the HP, I have looked at my 12 And 13 and the O ring chain is just like the day it went in, so non O ring with a good chain wax should hold up???

Im going to run two non oring chains. Roll easier for sure. Just lube them lots and they will last. MtnDoo ran non oring and said works very well. Oring chains are overhyped imo. When i ride dirt they both end up in the same condition after a few weeks.

Yes, I ran a chain we used to run on hill climbers. Extended swing arms and LONG chains with massive HP. You can imagine spinning a stiff, heavy o-ring chain that is 8 feet long! Ha! Massive HP loss and slow to recover wheel speed. We used the EK-MRD-6. I ran it on the KX Monster all season last year. Both chains. No problem. I think there are better ones out now. I am making some calls and asking a lot of questions. I will be trying another this year. MX bikes use a non o-ring for the same reasons. The 520 o-ring that comes with your kit is the best, heaviest, long lasting chain you can get. Don't get me wrong.

Clip would stay on.

I see no reason the clip would come off if installed in the right direction.

The first year MH kits had clip master links in the chain case. We were changing chains all season replacing with clip style master links. We had no problems.
