mfd problems

did a bunch of searching and couldnt find anything. my display on my 14 assault started acting up today. the display jumps back and forth from C to F temperature, goes to play back mode, mph... and my buttons on the mfd and the console dont do anything when you push them. worked fine last week, put new fly bars on this wk. unplugged handwarmers and tether with no change. unplugged and plugged main harness by coolant bottle a couple times with no luck. any thoughts....can i switch hoods from my 12 to the 14 to see if its in the gauge or in the sled? any help would be great, gonna ride again tomorrow hopefully

Switch connectors or wiring to/from id think. Bad connections, and or short on one of those wires...

I think the mfd's would be interchangeable, but not certain. If thats the case , youll have the same problems if its in the wiring .

so i switched hoods and mfd from my 12 onto the 14 and everything works as it should, put mine back on and unplugged everything on the bars one at a time with no change. but after screwing with it i noticed the brake lever is what is controlling the gauge. grab the brake goes to play back, hit the brake again goes back to temp. hold the brake and it switches from C to F. none of the buttons on the gauge or console do anything....gauge shorted inside of itself?

everything works when right when i hook up the 12 mfd? all the buttons work and the brake doesnt make the display change with the 12, only the 14

any other thoughts? im gonna call carls today since the sled is under warrenty, but just wanted to check as many things as possible before calling them

Mine was doing that. It went away when I moved the throttle block that had twisted on the bars. It must be some sort of short or loose plug somewhere.
