Island Park or the SInks/TOny Grove

Priest would be great because Cavanaugh Bay Resort rocks, but the backcountry is a long way on the roads, we would have to pack a lot of fuel. Island Park has some killer resorts and back country right there, or Utah,B's Outback Motorsports and Extreme machines could give us an epic tour, maybe CooK City could be a possibility. I guess we should do a poll, that sounded kind of nasty.

this post is making me want to forget about hawkfest2010....alot of pole riding going on.....haha.

hopefully we can settle on a location and date before new years so we can all make plans and let or significant others know we are leaving town!

a Poll

I vote pick a spot without alot of rode to ride to get there.
Utah sounds sweet for that.

im with ozzy, lets VOTE on it. id rather ride roads for miles as long as we dont have to ride the pole!

do we really have to wait 11 months for another hawkfest?

Hawk Fest

cooke city is amaizing deep pow everytime I've been there. There is also some big cornice drops but need to watch the avys there for sure. I still think CO. would be awsome to hit and adrenalinjnky has some great hookup for us all there. I have been to Island Park once but did not know where to go to find good off trail riding but I know it is there.

good point

cailin is right,,, last year and this year cailin flew down to utah to meet me there and the good ole boys from utah showed us some amazing places,,, the sinks,.. there is a huge parking lot that you can ride out of from right there,, would be a good base camp right next to the trucks,,, and then 10 min down the road is tony grove,,, and the 1st stop is the lake where anyone could get to and watch some big action,, but just up the hill from tony grove is winter wonderland! some of the most aggresive back country in the west. i know for sure that this area would be a hit for EVERYONE! and real easy access and good places to stay down town.

Skihill Resort between TOny and sinks

Beaver mtn resort is 5 minutes from the sinks and ten from TOny, great lodging so we won't even have to go to town to stay, plus Ek motorsports has a fat cabin right by the sinks and maybe he would make us some big booters or a snocross track to race our hawks, he road with us last year and talked about his groomer and how he would make us some big jumps.

Taking a poll, Voting for Utah

I'm going with Utah, sounds nice and accessable without the crowd.

while ozzy takes the pole...i VOTE on utah too. didnt somebody mention awhile ago about utah have a nut and slut club or comething? this hawkfest 2010 sounds so out of control already!

Never been to Utah but from what I've seen and heard it definitely seems like the place to be. I vote for Utah and will probably have to make a week out of it.

Utah sound good and nearer to the center of the Country. It would be good to plan this thing out now for things like raising money, rafles ,free Hawk tours Ect... Large banner on a hill side would be cool. Just throwin it all out there.

Damn, I'll be the black sheep here and I guess I'm OK about that...

My vote goes against Utah.

Too far for me to travel there, would need to take a whole week off to spend 2-3 days on the road, which I am not gonna do. I'd really like to ride there but I'd suggest a more central place for everyone. If we drew a map of all riders out there, Utah is probably the furthest south where Hawk riders do live. I guess Lolo hot Springs this year wasn't too bad of a drive for everyone; 8 hours for the guys in Seattle, 5-6-7 (?) hours from Utah, 10-11 hour from here in Salmon Arm BC. Can't tell fot SD guys but I think it was an "Ok" central place.

For attending '07, '08 and '09 Hawkfests, I think Hawkfests are not that much about riding but WAY more about meeting great other Hawk owners and make it a big meeting where we can share & talk about our passion. If everybody agrees to go there, well there we go and discard what I just said ! I'm just not buying the idea of the 5 day trip i'll have to make to get back & forth to Utah. The 15 to 18 hour drive one way would just kill me. Plus i'd probably end up going there alone since all (let's say MOST) BC Hawk riders don't seem to give a f'hawk.

And I'm sorry but for most of us : Valentine's day week-end sucks. I'd suggest do it another week-end but since i'll probaby end up not going there, I don't mind.

I feel your Pain

This is why I think we should plan NOW! I get the banner Idea from watching guys jump there bikes in the dunes. They place RedBull banners on a visiable hill side where they photo or film there jumps, most likely paying them and there trip.
This year the Alaska crew found a sponser to ship there Hawks to Montana. With you being in graphic design is it posible to have stickers made up say that advertise oils, winter clothing, or local buisness that would pay to have decales posted on your fellow Hawker rides. Plus your photos Rock if you develop more pictures and had sponsors printed on them for like bike shops Pizza places Ect... you have the best lookin Hawk Ive seen.

well im looking at 30 hours almost 2000 miles by mapquest....but im only .0000000000000000000001 % of hawkers. so dont let me have any influence on the 2010 fest. im sure the jet ill be on can get me there faster than mapquest says....allthough i would like to see a date and location set before too long so i can start my plans to close down shop for a bit and try to get more of locals out that way...

I'm sure you'd be able to pick up a couple fellow single ski riders along the way to break up the trip, help drive & help with expenses....
