Metro areas near good snow???

I'm considering a move out west but need to be in a good sized metro area with some larger companies. If I end up with the chicky I'm dating now long-term, I'll have to be in a suburb of a larger community. She's Asian and doesn't want to give up being close to good ethnic restaurants, social opportunites, etc. I'm thinking Washington or Oregon. I know I could survive in SLC, but I'm not sure if she could. :)

Any pointers? Where should I be looking for good opportunities for work, social networking, and sledding?

There are places in WA that are near Seattle and an hour from snow, but keep in mind it is very wet/heavy compared to Utah snow. There are lots of places near SLC that are very close to good snow. Not sure why you are afraid of SLC.

SL,UT. Like that. :) Trust me, that would be my first choice. I like the fluffier stuff you get in UT, WY, etc. Ultimately, I just want to be able to ride powder/off trail every time out and not have to worry about there being decent snow to ride from Dec 1 to Apr 1.

What about Colorado, Colorado Springs would be a nice place to live and if that is not big enough Denver is just up the road.
