Really wanted to attend this years gong show, had a blast at the hill climb 2 years ago. Wife's birthday is Sunday, not a chance in he!! am I able to get away for it.

Has anyone been up to see how the slides are? I remember the hill climb being cancelled a few years ago because of high avalanche risk.

Good luck to all who enter, and please post some pics of the carnage for me to enjoy! :D

This vid is one I took of a guy from C-Gar (won't post names here) who hurt his back coming down. I heard he healed fully, would like to see him playing again up there.

And some other poor guy losing his sled at the top.

Kootenay cat - I think I took a picture from that EXACT spot in 06 haha....that was a great year, I think that pic only shows about 2/3's of the sleds as well. Last year had just as good a turnout, but not as good of light. LOTS more carnage, but no one got hurt!

Is this a highmark contest?

Last year the snow was pretty setup....they had a course with a few twist/turns/bumps/jumps on the flats, you weaved your way through that and then up the face and over the top. They timed each run and quickest time won. Hill is steep at the top and trenches to contend with....other than that not too hard to go over when the snow was setup. With new snow (like we've had the last 2 weeks) I really don't know what the contest will look like....I think a few tracks will need to be laid down before anyone goes over.
