Metal storage boxes.

I am looking for some boxes for hardware, screws, small items....

I had this one, but I am looking for one which is a bit more beefier, as we use them on jobsites and the snaps go and the lids bend open with the single snaps. What would be preferred is one with 2 snaps, and a stronger lid that would not kink...They have to be metal, not the plastic junk.

Any help would be great.

Thanks, but all I have found at home depot is the plastic lids and stuff.

I need something more industrial, just like the one below, but with a 2 snap lid. My crews seem to abuse them and to spend 40 bucks for 10 guys every 6 months, I though I would research out something a litle more tougher... another manufacturer. :)

WOW, slim pickn's

Marcuso, I'm a little disapointed in what's out there. I usually specialize in finding things like this. I spent a couple hours trying to find you something better than the normal single drawer metal rack with a single claspe. There isn't much out there. I even contacted my rep with allied tool. All that is offered by manufacturers is a single metal drawer with one single clasp. The best contact I came up with is our rep Phil with Barnes Distributing out of Seattle. He can find almost anything. You guys must beat the crap out of tools and such that you use. We do too at our wind farm, as everything we use makes loads of crain lifts and abuse. Good luck. I would for sure contact your local sheet metal fab outlet and have something made. We have to do this all the time. We have some smaller sized tool boxes with compartments from Denmark that hold up well but I don't think it's exactly what your looking for.

Sorry

Matt...

Fastenal sells some very beefy ones with dual clasp lids, as do some industrial supply houses. We picked up a set of grey ones from Morcon here locally that have been put through hell and held up, never bought a set of the Fastenal ones but they had similar construction as the one's we got from Morcon.

those are the single clasp ones, but dig around on their website and you can find what you are looking for. From there you can find a manufacturer and try to get em for cheaper.

edit:

FWIW, the Fastenal ones have a heavy enough guage lid that you shouldn't need a dual clasp. They (and the ones we picked up from Morcon) are the heaviest of this style I've ever handled.

Thanks for the replies.

WOW it is amazing how some don't even read the posts on here...

Yeah the grey Durham single latch boxes are made for klein, and many other companies.

I found one that I am going to look at, it is called "wurth".

They are from Australia, and have a double clasp, and a tough lid, they have a pic of a guy jumping on them.
They sell automotive supplies, everything from soup to nuts...

I inquired about them and there is a western Canadian rep in Edmonton. I am gonna phone him Monday.

Here is a couple of links. It is a plastic, but an impact resistant ABS

Not sure about the clasps, and how they work...

I will look at what they have to offer.
They look a little small, but I guess if they hold up, they hold up.

Mark, while you're looking at Wurth stuff, they have some of the best hand cleaner, brake clean, and penetrating oil i've ever used. It's called HHS 2000. AWESOME stuff!
