Golf is not a sport, you don't even breath heavy or break a sweat when playing it and most of us get better just by drinking a six pack. It's right up there with Bowling, Lawn Darts and Bochie Ball.

Listen, Tiger Woods is every bit the athlete that Michael Phelps is. Tiger has won "xx" championships and Phelps has swam his way to 9 gold medals (so far). He makes the competition look like amateurs who don't belong in the pool with him the same way Tiger does on the golf course. Oh, and Tiger could win any MX race too...he's just that good.
Golf is defintely not a strenuous sport, but it requires the most skill of any sport that I have played.
It's semi irritating that Phelps is getting the the majority of the PRESS credit for that gold. He was himself and swam exactly what they thought he would....the other two were slightly better then expectation......Lezak was flat phenominal!

When you watch those medal ceremonies....doesn't it make you DAMN proud?
The back-stories are the best...coming from humble lives to go for it...represent your country and be the best in the world at something.
Can you imagine standing on a podium at the most prestigious event in your sport and having your flag raised and hearing your national anthem. No wonder Curt Angle cried on the podium in Atlanta.
It puts a lump in your throat.
Muhammed Ali at Atlanta in 96 to light the torch. WOW that was phenominal.
Remember Curt Angle on the podium at the awards ceremony in Atlanta?

Cael Sanderson in Athens 04 is going to go down for me as one of my favorites. I've been following him since he was in high school...and then to watch him go undefeated in college...to know of a person for almost 10 years and then to see them win an Olympic Gold...BIG lump in the throat for that one. Hell YEAH!!!!!!!!
And now Phelps in 08. I'm not a big swimming fan, but I have total respect for what they do to train and put themselves through. How many times can a person set world records? WOW!!!!!!! That dude is a stud. I can sure root for him to set the world record in each final. He's 3 finals and 3 world records. Can you imagine 8 for 8 in 08?
