Memory Card question???

Hey all, I was looking at some digital picture frames today while I was about, and I got to wondering, Is there a way to transfer pictures off of a computer onto a memory card that you could then put in one of those digital frames? I made the unfortunate mistake of deleting some of the first pictures off of my cameras memory card a while back and haven't been able to figure out a way to save them back onto the card. Is there any way to do that?

I really like the idea of being able to see hundreds of sledding pictures on my wall without having to pound hundreds of nails in the wall, lol.

Thanks:beer;

Yea.
When on the comp. looking at the pics go to "save as" I think it is E drive that ios a external memory piece. I have used my camera memory card to hold school papers and such.

then how do I get it into the card, I don't see a slot in the back of the computer that would fit a card?

You could save them to a CD or thumb drive and use someone else's computer or take them to Wally world or someplace like that. Might be cheaper than buying a new puter (unless you just need an excuse?)

Run down to Wally world and pick up an SD card usb adapter. This will allow you to put your SD card in and basically make it another hard drive on your computer. These usually run about $20, if you was closer I'd just let ya borrow one of the few i've got sitten around. Good luck, and yeah those digital frames are pretty sweet.

How do you normally get your pictures from your camera to your computer?

You can use a USB connector that has a usb plug on 1 side and a card reader on the other.

The camera came with it's own cable that hooks into a usb port on the back , but it only seems to copy the pictures to the computer, I haven't figured out how to make it go the other way.

Somewhere like Best Buy a good place to look for one of those? That's where I was looking at the frames this morning while I was waiting for my new speakers to get installed in the truck. That sounds like a great, easy way to go...

Thanks, I was hoping it would be that easy:D:beer;

After you connect the camera right click on the start button(bottom left) and select "explore" you will see the "file tree" look for either "D" "E" or "F" and it should say something like camera or removable disk. That is the card copy the files there.

Ok, I found the file tree no problem, and found "CD drive D" and "removable disk E" but no "F". I clicked on "E" and it said to "please insert a disk into drive E", well, there is no where else to put one, the cable is plugged into the only connection that it will fit...

now I don't know what to do... guess getting that card reader is my only option huh? not that it's expensive, I'll pick one up soon.

Thanks for the help tho, it was worth a shot at least:beer;

You might check that your camera isn't asking you a question, when it got plugged in. Like, do you want "PC" or "print". Mine won't do anything till I tell it.

You should also check that your memory card is in your camera.

When you transfer pictures from your camera to computer, do you have to turn on your camera or something?

Basically, when you plug your camera into your computer, the camera has one of those flash card drives (card reader) in it.

I got one of the card readers on my computer, sometimes it's just easier that way.

Yes, I do have the card in the camera, I have never taken it out.

Yes, I do have to turn on the camera before I plug in the cable to it.

I have the program set to automatically transfer the pictures to the computer without having to do anything more.

Ya, I'm just gonna buy a card reader, I like simple...:D

We got a computer that has a card reader, and it is the best thing since sliced bread.

You should look at getting a USB card reader, they rock. You can just drag and drop images to your card via "my computer->whatever your card is".

What kind of camera? Mine has a "USB Mode" option between "PTP" (Picture Transfer Protocol) that requires software on the computer to yank pics off the camera and "Normal" where the camera's memory card shows up as a mass storage device. If yours has that option, switch it to Normal and the memory card should appear in "My Computer" as a drive letter.

There are external USB card readers that do the same thing, but if the camera can do that with a change in the menu ther'es no sense buying moar hardware.
