Mechanic Rec's for a winter tune up?

Need to get a tune up on my '07 Yamaha Vector 4-stroke with approx 600 miles. Replaced a belt, which is still squeling and thats it. Bought the sled in a private sale, which was orignally purchased from Vickery Moto in Aurora. Haven't replaced, plugs, oil, etc. Also, forgot to put stabalizers in the gas tank this past summer.

Im not a mechanic, and want the sled tuned up right so if you could shoot me some reccomendations I would appreciate it. The sled is in Vail and I live in Denver, so anywhere between there would work. Also, let me know what im looking at as far as work and cost. Thanks for the help guys.

Squeeky belt usually is a good thing, well at least it probably means, a new belt. :P I don't mind a slightly squeeky belt when its new.
You can adjust the deflection on the 2ndary...but its no where near as easy as it should be IMO. 600 miles isn't even broken in! RIDE it. :) If its never had an oil change in its existance, it probably wouldn't hurt to do that at least. Plugs should be fine.

Gas n Go!

the squeeky belt comes from the wearing of small bolts in your secondary (i think) they need to be replaced every season. I just found this out from the yamaha demo guys.

As far as getting it serviced out here lots of people have opinions of good yammi mechanics. if i can't do it i take my sled to Mt Tech Yamaha in Nathrop CO. I don't think anybody at vickery rides a yamaha snowmobile. Bill Vickery used to have a turbo RX1 but i think it's just collecting dust.

Put some good gas in her, check the plugs, pull the airbox off and drain the float bowls. try to start her up. Make sure the battery is good. If that works you probablly just saved $250

Thanks for the tips. I was off on the mileage, put on 600 miles but It had 500 when I bought it so 1100 total.

Also, where should i go to have the bearings repacked on my two place trailer?

Depending on your trailer it may just be a matter of getting a grease gun, popping off the caps(no wheel removal required), and shoot some grease into the fitting. There is a Yamaha dealer in Silverthorne. Silverthorne powersports I think. Not sure on how good they are.I usually don't trust anybody with my stuff though.Good luck. Also any tire shop should be able to help you with you're trailer.
