MDS vs. Carls clutch kit ( 2013 pro 800)

No! Steve machines and sets the weights up for each specific sled on his dyno (Pol, cat, doo....). They are designed for better mid range pull, belt grip and back shifting.

Steve rides a pro and will give you his set up!

I think he also got 2200ish miles out of his belt. He was pissed when the clutch broke and he had to start on a new belt lol.

I was on the fence between MDS or Carl's , I called them both up and after talking to Steve I decided to go with the MDS. I'm sure both are better then stock, just different ways to skin a cat...

you won't be disapointed ! you will notice the performance and so will your friends :face-icon-small-win

nothing against Carls i know they have good setups also
just haven't run it so i can't compare

im going to be running steve's (MDS) setup in my primary. His weights and a black/green spring. And im going to try that paired with the carls secondary. Their helix and gold/black spring.

Hopefully it works out great.

I already have the carls setup in my secondary and i think its working great, but my clutch/belt temps are way higher than i was hoping for, so im going to try steves weights to hopefully achieve cooler clutch/belt temps.

How much are the mds weights and spring?

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

weights, spring, and shipping= $272.99

I know its a lot, but the way i see it, my belts arent going to last long at the clutch/belt temps im seeing. If the weights double my belt life, they will pay for themselves.

I went with the full carls kit incl the maching and balancing and it woke the sled up big time from stock. Last ride out I drag raced a 2010 hcr with a bunch of custom clutching and the "big 163 hp motor" and he could not pull me at all. We were heading back to the trucks on a packed flat road and from about 30-40kms per hour all the way to WOT for about a km or 2 he could not pull an inch on my 2012 pro. Last year he would walk away fairly steady. We did this about 5 or 6 times on the way back and it was the same thing every time. I am also a good 55lbs heavier rider than he is. So with the differences in sled weight I figure I am still 20 to 25lbs heavier.

The clutch kit makes a big difference in how much more hp is getting to the track. I would recommend this kit to anyone after this.
