Bioethanol E85 is a fuel consisting of 85 percent bioethanol and 15 percent gasoline. Traditional gasoline is based on oil, which is a non-renewable resource. Ethanol in bioethanol E85 is based on renewable biological resources. This results in lower CO2 emissions, as well as the opportunity for high power
E85 is suitable for turbo guys really aimed at HIGH power, who want to use it daily. race fuel makes the same applied when it comes to power, but some believe actually E85 s even better than race fuel. telco e it the price, then, race fuel costs about 40, - per gallon Norwegian kroner, while the E85 is around 8.50, -Norwegian Kroner.
BUT, ethanol engine uses ca30% more than gasoline, so the price per miles is about the same as running 98 unleaded.
E85 has an octane rating of 104 (summer quality), but behaves as a race fuel for MUCH more in the octane number, much as possible due to the excellent engine COLLING event `s getting to the increased amount of fluid flushed through the engin. combustion temp e to lower for an ethanol engine.
E85 provides a grant of power of about 5-10% compared to an engine that runs on 98okt pump gas.
E85 e similar oxygen added race fuel in power.
cold start properties:
an ethanol engine requires a much richer blend when it s cold to start, so you need "choke" function in addition to the cold start feature that is already an all injectionsyst.
it's solved by manipulating temperature sensors when the engine `s cold. one has a cold start button as a "choke"
Range:
range becomes smaller as the engine goes about 30% more fuel.
Ignition: Ethanol has a lower burn rate than gasoline, to one should therefore change little on the ignition, how much depends on trottelposision, speed, charging pressure.
ignition can be changed by using the power commander ignition module, or rapidbike3.
Summer quality of E85 contains 15% fuel and 85%ethanol the rest. Winter quality contains about 25% gasoline and the remaining ethanol With Statoil fuel station here in Norway.
I have RB3 and i blend 80% summer quality E-85 and 20% 98okt.
I also have 39L Trail tank.
Since I have MCX kit we have created a new map to it in Dyno, run about 30% more gasoline (E-85) now through MCX jets and uses Rb3 and run 30% more fuel to the original jets when I run on E-85.
Also has one more of the MCX box that is mapped to regular gasoline that is 98 octane and a switch to Rb3 and MCX Box that switching to another map so that I run the original fuel map in the original jets and original layout 270 kit that is delivered to MCX, I only fill 98 octane pump gas and drive 270hp and when i want to run E-85 map i just switc the button and got aboat safe 310hp at 1,3bar.
Its my friend and buddy at www.mkmotor.com who has done this on my Nytro
