I have the newest mcx nytro kit that is supposedly mapped to 15psi. I ride sea level most of the time, but make a few trips to cooke city a year. Cooke is anywhere from 6500 to 10000'. My question is to run 17psi do I still need to buy the update? or will the stock pump keep up at that elevation? I would assume it would as at sea level at 13psi its putting out 240hp and at 17psi at 8500 putting out darn near same hp.

it does compensate for the altitude it reads it as total kpa....so the pressure before boost and with added together to get the total. so when you go up in altitude the starting pressure is lower so it adds boost to equal it out. but 17 at 8500 sounds high should be like 14 with the standard kit..do you have the 270 hp map? i think its 16.5 at sea lvl and up from there but you do need the upgraded fuel pump. that map put me at 21 psi at 12,000 feet so i turned it down 18~19 at that altitude because thats out of the turbos map.

I recommend the upgrade everyday in the week!
And thats because stock fuelpump has a tendency to loose it's capacity, in the beginning fuelpreassure is fine, but after run out of fuel a couple of times and the preassure @ boost starts to drop and lean condition is a fact!
Do you have a lambda?
But back to your question, If your good @ sealevel your good everywhere, you doesent make any more hp @ altitude, and theres your answer!
