mcx 180 first start up

I have just installed an mcx 180 kit on my nytro and just wondering what you guys are doing for tuning in the shop, what to check for after start up and how your checking to see if boost and air fuel is spot on and air fuel? I do have both gauges installed.

In the instructions it tells you to run it for 4 seconds wide open and check the boost guage. I put mine on my stand and then put skis against wall in garage and gave it the juice. It sounds pretty bad but all was fine. I then double checked things when I got it out on the snow and my boost was set where it was supposed to be.

The stand may be alright for a starting point but to properly set it up it must be under load (deep snow climbing)
Have fun Happy Boosting!

Pretty much what the guys said, I have the stern lifted and the front blocked and then do the "rev" thing. I did find that the settings at garage level were pretty close to those up on the hill so you should be able to dial it in very close. Other than that just check for oil leaks from all your turbo connections, the oil pump ones seem to be most prone to leaking but you certainly don't want to tighten that brass bolt down to hard into the aluminum case! We're coming up to our 3rd season on these kits and they have been bulletproof to say the least. Once you get the adjustment figured out all you have to do is ride it! Sherm

I found that I really couldn't get an accurate boost reading in the garage becuase there was no load on the engine. I only have a boost gauge and found everything to be spot on when I got to the hill. The only thing I have heard of is that some kits were over boosting and the waste gate rod needed to be adjusted. I didn't have this problem.
