Were coming to ride McCall friday through Sunday. Where should we stay? Need a hottub, good food and cold beer!

yes..don't need hotub or beer, just good food and folks who know the area to point us in the right direction :face-icon-small-coo

Bear Creek Lodge...ride from your door. Prob is it's a few miles into town for food and fun. I bet they would shuttle you (cocktails).

Hit Lardo's...good food...good beer...good chili bombs...GREAT PEOPLE!

Riding for the past week has been awesome! It should snow all week which just makes it that much better. There was NOBODY in McCall. We saw about fifteen total sleds and essentially none over 1/4 mile from any trail.

Trails were SMOOOOOOOOOTH and fast. Off trail was almost epic..the weather didn't suck too bad either. Great days..about two more feet of freshie freshie will be dead on EPIC.

Is it free? (can't be the best if it isn't free so be careful what you say:face-icon-small-win)

Me I like to hit all of the places looking for the best. We love the peeps and family fun environment at Lardos. They treat us like gold and that is awesome. Skiers and sledders, locals and flat landers, rich and poor, all tipping back coldies and having a good time together. Makes me happy! Also like the golf course as the food is surprisingly good and it's a stumble from home.

My perfect day...rip pow pow then hit town

MMM cold beer, rare red steak, then hot tub with more cold beer...a post sledding regime that keeps you strong!

silly pretentious people drink fancy lemon flavored fluff water...I drink coors light..much better for you...more energy in coors light then gatorade! Just socially unacceptable for sports teams to be slamming silver bullets on the side lines. BEER FEST II! :face-icon-small-hap

your best bet is to order a coors light (personal hydration palet cleanser) water is for fish and to make grass grow) and then also a real beer (flavor) with your steak dinner

Geeze I have to teach you people everything? :face-icon-small-win

If your on a Budget.. You cant beat the price of the Scandia Inn. 52.00 a night!!

P.S - You and all your belongings will leave smelling like you slept in a 90 yr old ladies house for a month.

Bear Creek Lodge

The best (and only one I know of) place to ride out from in our area is the Bear Creek Lodge. You can ride north, south into two different areas with trails over 40 miles each direction. They have gas, permits, food and of course, booze.

I think they have hot tubes in some of the cabins too. They have just hired a new cook so food is available. Great place that supports the local grooming program and snowmobile programs.

F-Bomb are you coming to the rain fest this weekend in McCall to sled?
I will buy you a good beer. Actually the snow about 7500 feet was not bad.

Sorry no McCall. Free beer? MMMM that is hurtful for my choices.

Was scheduled for McCall today through Mon. We were going to film some commercials but the weather finked out on us and my peeps all went to colorado instead of mccall. I'm riding in Oregon as my backup plan until tues. Raining? Dang...this could have been an epic dump! S'posed to be all week or longer. Which is good since we were uncovering rocks on every hump both on the east side and around brundage. Hopefully it will lay down, harden up, then dump 2 ft or more ft of fluff to enhance our fun!

Be careful up high...saw a couple of decent slab sluffs up in the top of the bowls between fisher and wongs. This heavy stuff might cause a bad deal for awhile. Mostly it was firming and adhering super good...just don't know what this heavy will do on top of pretty good stuff. Over the hill into lick creek side around storm peak will be dangerous. It was still super loose in the top 1,000ft on the side the sun never sees. check your avy reports and use extra caution. Wants my free beer some other day!

Oooo mastertech my helmets already smell like that...just gross

Rode sick last week...didn't know I had that kind of sweat-ability. Hello FLY need a new bucket and this one needs to go to hazmat.

Mel,
Lets huddle up for a Bear Creek ride in a couple weeks! Anxious to visit. Thanks for the message looking forward to a ride and checking out the new grub deal. Other then our own arrangements it's pretty tough to compete with Bear Creek for the complete sledders package.

Fun Run

Hey F-bomb, the McCall Club is having our Fun Run the second Saturday of the Winter Carnival, Feb. 5th at Bear Creek Lodge. Gonna have a bunch of prizes again like last year. Not sure how much has been donnated this year but last year we went over $7,000. For example, for 100 entries that works out to $70 per and the entry fee is only $10. Can't beat those odds and still go for a ride and have all the fun and food at Bear Creek.

I am sure we will have some of those fantastic F-bomb running boards too.

They are great, open and almost impossible to to get packed with snow or to slip off of, I know I have a set now.

Will buy you a beer too, but not that stuff that is almost water, real men don't drink that or eat quiche.

Just kidding, Spud.

Mel,
I'm working this one into the schedule. I've passed the flyer on to marketing along with my recommendation for a donation. I thought last years event was REALLY FUN and we did get some follow up business from our donation. We do thousands ($$$$) annually and have tons of requests for product and money. This one hits close to home for me so I'm sure pushing. Plus I need to personally verify that your install is correct on your Better Boards! :D

There was an awesome selection of prizes last year. Shirley said that they have an avy beacon in the mix this year as well. Pretty cool! Love to see your club organize an avy class in association with your ride but don't know if it's feasable time or money. (even a basic theory briefing would be better then nothing) Parks and Rec used to put those on but don't know if they are in the program anymore.

Anyways...hope to see you in McCall for Winter Carnie! (being a sled carnie this is my world!)
