McCall Grooming Schedule

So can anyone tell me the grooming schedule for McCall. My kidneys are almost healed up from the last trip down. If they haven't done a better job for this coming weekend I will surely go someplace else. It was beyond bad.

Thanks in advance

So this is what I found. I am specifically looking at the area from the Wallace lot to Goose Lake. So it was groomed on the 2nd. When will it be done again? If they don't touch it till next Sunday night Ill stay home and keep my grooming money next year.

Sun March 2: Francis Wallace Parking Lot, Secesh Summit. Upper Elevation (Titus) Parking Lot, Brundage Reservoir (X), Goose Lake (Y), Association Cabin, Wallace Lane Parking Lot. Donnelly: Tamarack Falls Parking Lot, No Business Saddle (G), Middle Fork Weiser (F), Little 4 Corners (E), Blue Bunch (J), Big Creek Meadow (M), Fish Lake (N), Bear Creek Lodge, Red Ridge (D), Little 4 Corners, Tamarack Falls Parking Lot. Cascade: West Mtn. Froomer Garage, Deer Creek, 4 Corners (AN).

No schedule

There is no set schedule right now because of weather conditions. We have sent a lot of complaints to the head of the grooming program and actually did get them to go out later at night when the temperatures are cooler. They groomed Monday night from Francis Wallace Parking Lot to Burgdorf Hot Springs but included the message that the trail was still bumpy from FW to Upper Lake but smooth from Secesh Summit to Burgdorf. It is still a mess beyond there following the Warren Crab Feed. They usually groom from Upper Elevation to Goose Lake Thursday night and from Brundage Reservoir to the top of Copet Creek and up into Granite Lake and Fisher Creek Saddle Friday night. The groomer report reports what was groomed the night before. If you see it posted on Friday it was groomed Thursday night into Friday morning before 5 AM. I hope this helps. I post the grooming as soon as I get the report from Dispatch, usually between 7 and 8 AM. If it comes in before 7, I post it earlier. You will always get the best updates on the actual area snow conditions and weather forecasts on the Payette Avalanche Center web site which you can link to from the grooming report. www.secesh.net/Groomer.htm

I am on the Valley County Groomer Advisory Board (McCall area) and wanted to let you know what it happening with our trail system right now. It takes cold weather (below freezing) to properly groom and set the trails. Unfortunately, we haven't had more than just a few hours at a time that the temps dropped below freezing in the last three weeks. It doesn't let the trails get cold enough to groom, and if they do groom, they are just pushing the water around. It is unfortunate that our weather patterns have kept us so warm; especially when we are getting all this great precipitation. The off-trail is still pretty good once you get up in elevation. Here is hoping for some cold weather to set in and we get to enjoy some more winter! One of the ski resorts here had a sign in the base area that said "No Diving & No lifeguard on duty; swim at your own risk" and that just about sums it up!!!

Wednesday night

They groomed from Upper Elevation to Goose Lake, Association Cabin, Clayburn, Hazard Lakes Wednesday night. It is supposed to be colder at night tonight and Friday night. It was raining at 7000 feet yesterday.

At least you are still grooming ...i guess the Idaho City crew is done no new posts on site and they sure dont know how to help keep the lots some what pushed out!! :tsk: what a f-ing mess in both lots...yaya i know its the states problem and the state says its the groomer's problem been down both roads... and we let a little blown in corner hault the progam too.. rant over!!! thanks beckyJ and Terri K for what you guys do in mcall and surrounding areas.....I dont run the groomers and dont plan too.. i am sure it intels a lot of stress on both parts...

More grooming

They groomed from Francis Wallace Parking Lot to Copet Creek and met that grooming from Upper Elevation, Brundage Reservoir, Goose Lake. They went from there to Fisher Creek Saddle and Granite Lake.

If you are planning on driving into Yellow Pine, check to see if the East Fork South Fork Road has been reopened. You can snowmobile from Warm Lake (at last report - they groomed to Deadwood Summit yesterday). There are avalanches across the road that between Warm Lake and Yellow Pine on the East Fork South Fork Road and between Yellow Pine and Stibnite that are blocking vehicle traffic. Valley County and Midas Gold are working to reopen the roads but they were not open at last report. There links to avalanche pictures on the Payette Avalanche Center web site. http://www.payetteavalanche.org/advisory/
