MC-Xpress Turbo Nytro and 3' of pow!

Finally got to ride some deep stuff this last Sunday in the heart of the Kootenay's. There was about a 3' base with 2 1/2 to 3' of fluff on top.
These nytro's are very impressive! I was running 16lbs of boost and I swear it goes as good or better then my last years apex did at the same boost level. Its alot more responsive and has more low end and midrange pull fo-sure.
Anybody thinking of doing up a yami turbo will not be dissapointed, they are just way to much fun! After a little getting used to they carve and climb with ease! These things even make the trail a fun place to ride. They just rip out of the corners (its just to hard to describe how hard they pull)
So far I'm totally impressed with the timbersled skid. It holds the ski's down well, but unlike an m-10 it still gives you enough transfer to be playfull when boon'n. A 162 track is a must and you don't even need a tunnel extension, it fits right under the stocker fine
I'm installing a CR-racing tunnel as we speak but its not really a must (as the 162 track and different skid are!)

Merry boostmas to all!

Ken - would you please list everything that you have done to your sled? What track, drivers, boost, clutching, front end, skis, exhaust, etc. The more specific, the better. I am compiling a list of guys with boosted Nytro's and then following their "seat time" reports. Will build next year with a friend's Nytro - he has decided to leave it stock for this year. Thanks

got me excited, heading to Revy on the 26th with my new S/C Nytro. Hopefully everything is fine. So desperate to ride I have been riding in 3 inches of snow on the prairie testing. See you out there Ken.

Woohoo, i agree with Kenny. Also rode in 3' of untouched pow on the weekend and the 3 MCX'd Nytro's were ripping big time !! After 2 days in the deep, the sled reacts and handles so fast its awesome. In the tree's its a dream as well.
The new under tunnel exhaust works awesome, saved myself 8lbs and was also able to carry 5 gallon jerry on the back. Get that tunnel on ASAP kenny and come up for a ride.

Well, Fuji had the idea, i got the materials to build 10, Chad helped with the proper angles cuz i was getting frustrated, we all designed it, chad and i fab'd the first one up, i guinie pigged it and the under tunnel was born. Shes got zero baffles/restriction etc. Goes off the turbo facing forward for about 7 or 8 inches, the tip dumps down towards the track. Saves weight, quiet in the snow and allows one to pack on the fuel in the back. Win win. 5 more going on this week now we know it works.

The must do's!: 162 track
avid drivers
Timbersled skid
I'm running the 8bu's loaded up with the heavy steel yami pins and a 47 degree helix. Seems good. As far as rpm, I have no idea.......to fast can't see the guage.
So far i've been running 2 1/2 gallons of 100ll av gas with a balance of 94 oct pump gas in each tank. This is at 16lbs.

Running the same weights as Ken with washers added to the inner pins, Adjustable helix at about 45 and this thing has unreal throttle response at about 13lbs. I still have the 153 but gonna put on a backwards 162 X 16 Maverick as soon as my rails arrive. I already have the Barkbuster front end and floats on and have been running an Ohlins rear shock which is a lot better than stock. My Mtn tamer cleared customs today so gonna do the rear all at once along with drivers. I am finding the sled to be unbelievably "quick" in both handling and power and switched off with my son this weekend and rode his tapex for a little while. I find the tapex a little more "stable" especially in narrow cutlines and deep snow, I am thinking the bigger track may help stabilize the Nytro. The power comes on the tapex a little slower but he is running about 16lbs so there is definitely more power. I find the Nytro to be a lot more sensitive to body positioning and with my weight forward it gets pitched around more when encountering other riders trenches. On untracked snow I absolutely love it but it is very sensitive to rider input and I tend to be to aggressive initiating turns etc. after 2 seasons on a tapex. I initially had my pivot riser too far forward and have since brought it back further towards the stock position and it has helped. Forgot to order a tunnel extension so glad to hear it will work. I have a rack and can carry 1 or 2 10l cans on the tunnel ext. as I riveted an elbow in the exhaust outlet. All in all this Nytro is the most impressive turbo sled yet.
