Mazama this weekend

Hey, 4 of us are heading to Mazama this weekend and most likely taking off from Goat Creek sno-park and up to Sweetgrass. Anyone been that way lately? Any suggestions on where to head? Bringing the wives, so nothing too extreme, but would like some nice play areas in meadows or trees. Avy danger is high, so want to stay away from those slide areas.

Thanks.
Brian

We were up there last weekend snow was heavy but but soft we could climb anything don't do that this weekend! When you take the Y to the left to get to the sweetgrass lookout there are some area's on the left about a mile up the road and just past that is another cattle guard/play area. Down to the right is what we call the "the bowl" I think I would stay out of that this weekend. from there to the top it's about 3 miles when you get to the top you can ride off the top in the same direction you came up the road down the hill gets into a great little area that's open. Maybe not for shorter track sleds not sure what your riding. We were thinking about going to our cabin up there we have had for 43 years this weekend but are going next weekend or we would see you up there have any ? feel free to ask. Mark

You know, folks can think what they want, but the people on SW make it the best SMB site on the web.

that's what I needed. had a local friend suggest the EXACT same things, so I'm sure we will figure it out with your directions and his maps.

I ride a 154 and the wifey has a 146, but she only weighs 125lbs. should be able to play without getting stuck too much.

thanks!!! :face-icon-small-hap

Had a great day today. No video, camera broken. But.....good powder and great play areas just past Sweetgrass. Deep powder, no signs of slides. Even got the wifey side-hilling. Heading that way again tomorrow. Gonna see if we can find more play areas.
