ok, so i know i posted this same thing in two other categories but i never got a response. since many of the yamaha crew seems to run the challenger extreme, thought i would try one more time here.

so, i am looking for someone to explain to me the difference, if any, between a 153X15X2.25 challenger extreme and a 150X15X2.5 challenger extreme. obviously i am asking about things other than the length and lug height.

is one softer than the other? is there a performance difference between the two in the deep? does one hold up better than the other? and so on and so forth.

i have the 153, would like to have the 150 but just don't think i can justify the cost. anyone have reason to disagree? thanks

The main difference between the 2.25" and 2.5" besides the obvious height difference is very minimal. The 2.5" lug is a little more sturdy, being that the lug is thicker up to the 2.25" mark before the "teeth" are made. On the 2.25" it is 2" tall lug with .25" teeth. Basically the 2.5" is a .25" taller/sturdier lug.

that is what i was thinking. thank you very much. guess i will "suffer" with the 153! enjoy!

I have the 144x16x2.5 and it's wicked. I've been on gravel/mud/every kind of snow and it just flat hooks up. The tips of the paddles don't even bend over when on the garage floor.
