How long of a track can be put in a 144" edge rmk skid? i have access to an 05 rmk with a 166 on it that is for parts and read a thread here about newer iq rmk skids fitting in an edge chassi with minor modifications. Would this work with a tunnel extension? or any idea what lenght i can go with this sled?

without a tunnel extension that i would only go to a 151,but that 166 skid would be sweet but that entails a little bit more work. not tottaly sure what you wanna do but anything is possible
Hey thanks for the input. What all extra would be required to swap to the 166 skid? i saw in the other thread about them that some guys had to change drivers? im still pretty new to sled modifications but would love to have a longer track.
With the 144" tunnel you can't even get away with a 151, it will eat your snow flap.
You can put rail extensions on it as well as a tunnel ext from say SLP and go clear to 166 if you want. I did this on an '02 Edge chassis.
The '05/'06 900 skid is a direct bolt in to the Edge, you just have to make sure and get your mounting locations set correctly, not a big deal.
To run anything more than a 2.25" track in the edge you'll either have to change drivers or drop/roll the chaincase.
In my opinion, unless you are doing a motor mod on the Edge, the 166x2.4 track is not a good option. Motor mod, sure. I ran mine with a 910 Carl's Cycle big bore.

Thanks Sled_guy that is exactly what i needed to know. Im not sure if it'll happen or not yet but the 900 rmk is a sled that is either going to parts or possibly be rebuilt depending on if we can get it runnin for what its worth
I ran extension rails on my 03 RMK 700 which made it a 151" without a tunnel extension. I did a slight mod on the snow flap mount and never had any problems at all. I can see without any mods the flap shredding quickly.
