Maverick 162 direction ?

So, I couldn't get a 162 Extreme in time for my next trip but I have a slightly used Mav 162 - 16 that is going under my MCX Nytro along with new 162 straight rails, Avids and a Mtn Tamer. Although this track has been used the paddles seem to have all returned to a vertical position. I am considering putting it in backwards and would like to hear the pros and cons. Also anyone that has done the 162, did you do any gearing changes. I know this thing has crazy power but wondering if anyone has geared down for the bigger track as apparently the sled will do over 180kmh(that's fast). Don't want those Apexes giving me a lickin' :D :D :D

I would toss it in the direction of the nearest dumpster, I had one and wouldn't run one again, the camo extreme is soooo much better

I had the mav on my TRX-1. After about 200 miles the paddles were bent over so I turned it around. They bent back the other way w/in 200 miles. I probably would not get another one for a turbo's sled. Too much power and the track is just too soft.
I 2nd the vote for the camo extreme. You say you can't get the extreme so until you get it, I would put the Mav on so the paddles are cupping the snow. Then by the end of your riding they will be somewhat straight.

Run it the way its sposed to run for 200 to 400kms, then flip it around. It works great, and i gotta laugh at every saying the Mav track is junk, that and the 2.25" camo are the best powder tracks around.

Yes, a 2.5 camo extreme will hook up on harder snow better, but who gives a fug about hard snow. Powder is the only place a dude with a mountain sled sould be riding anyway.:D

i did this last year but it wasn't worth the time to change it around. the braking goes out the window.u won't be able to stop or even slow down coming down hills unless u r in some pow.other sleds came down alot slower than i did.

The track already has a season on it so I put it on backwards. Cut off all the excess bolts sticking in the tunnel at the bulkhead for clearance but this track is sure a tight fit, LOL. Skid just about finished with new rails and Mtn Tamer so should go back in tomorrow. We finished the Apex today as well with new rails, Mtn tamer and Barkbuster front end. We didn't bother to flip that one yet, we will try the nytro backwards first. Got a ride planned between Christmas and New Year so will see how it works.

I just put 2" #8 screws in the lugs stiffens them right up, I used to do this on the original 2" camo that was really soft worked very good, you don,t have to put them in all the logs if you want alittle of both worlds. I just did my nytro track, I will see how it works, didn,t see any reason to waste a new track if I could make it work for atleast this season.
