Mats Sundin signs with the Canucks

Edmonton, Colorado, Calgary, Minnesota, take note, we just got a hole heck of alot harder to play against :D

I think Mats will either be boom or bust for us, but without having to alter our team much to fit him in, and the cap space to spend, I can hardly complain regarding the signing. Is he worth the money? No, but we had it to spend, so a 1 year deal which still gives us some cap space to potentially sign another top 6 is pretty exciting.

At long last it ends, but I am pretty happy with the outcome, I have to admit.

Sundin is over-rated, not to mention old, he's been playing in a weak division for so long, just wait til he's re-introduced to secretary of defense Regehr!!

If I were you I would be more concerned when Luongo is coming back!

Exactly. You can't count on winning every game 7-6.

I jump on and off the Canuck wagon as I see fit and I am excited about this acquisition. I think Gillis needed to put together a big deal to get his face and hand print on this franchise. We shall see. I think that I am happier with him not going to New York. They have a good team that seems to be playing really well right now. I wouldn't want to screw up any chemistry on that team especially with them being in the hunt with Boston.

The Northbest division just got better. Good entertaining hockey being played out here.
Sucks to be a fan of the Southleast division(do they actually have fans).

So how do you discount his success in international hockey? He has matched up against the best, and still beaten the best, hes 37, selanne had great success last year, he was 39, I am more concerned if he still has that "drive" you need. Regehr is the least of my worries, unless Sundin gets clipped by one of his ears, that could do some damage :p. I personally believe he will do well, and put up around a point a game, and yes, a 6'5 230 lb power forward is just going to be shaking in his booties :D I am sure the Canucks will match up just fine for toughness, I like what Gillis has done. We have managed to keep the division close with the loss of luongo, injuries to bieska, sanford, demitra, johnson, salo who all play a pretty important part to our team :D with the new addition, and another possible addition at the dealine for a top 6 forward, or puck moving defenseman, I think we might be the team to beat in the NW, time will tell.
