Math quiz

I guess this is a real 5th grade math problem:

There are 7 girls in a bus. Each girl has 7 backpacks. In each backpack,
there are 7 big cats. For every big cat, there are 7 little cats.

The bus driver is not in the bus at this time.

Question:
How many legs are there in the bus?

I know the answer, PM it to me. The winner will big a big prize... NOTHING. LOL

I'm no rocket surgeon but I'd say you are forgetting the 14 legs for the 7 girls???

There are 10,990 legs total.

7 girls x 2 legs = 14 girl legs
343 cats x 4 legs = 1372 cat legs
2401 kittens x 4 legs = 9604 kittens legs
14 girl legs + 1372 cat legs + 9604 kittens legs = 10,990 legs

Or...

There are 7 small cats, thats 28 legs. For those 7 small cats, there is 1 large cat, thats another 4 legs. 28+4=32 legs. Multiply that by 7 large cats, you get 224 legs. Multiply that by 7 backpacks you get 1568 legs. Multiply that by 7 girls you get 10976. Now add the 7 girls legs in, you get 10,990.

Here is my interpretation. In the question it just says that for every big cat there are 7 small cats. It doesn't say that the small cats are in the backpack. Sooooo

7 girls=14 legs
49 backpacks with 7 cats each so 49x7x4=1372 legs
For a grand total of 1386 legs.

I seen this bus and some of the cats were double amputees, and some were so imbred that they had no legs at all. So you are all wrong. The correct answer is 937
