Are we ready? Models got juicier over the past 24 hours so we suspect the 2-5 foot storm totals (upper peaks) by Monday afternoon are realistic. There are signs of another atmosphere river setting up over California by next Friday! Weekly totals will be over the top! Map is through Monday AM (Liquid Water).

I predict the the current jet stream will move the 1st storm south through parts of Utah, Colorado & Northern Arizona ... Any time I see a weather map showing rain in Los Angeles that to me mean the jet stream will be to far south to dump big snow on Idaho, Wyoming & Montana ... Hopefully the jet stream will flatten out so Idaho, Wyoming and Montana can receive a direct hit from one or more storms coming in from the pacific.

1-3 inches snow Tues & Weds
Rain on Thurs
Rain on Sat.

Season looks like it's pretty much toast for us.

California Sierra Nevada !

Storm prediction still on track.

100% likelihood for this weekend and down to 80% for next weekend.

Estimates for rain amounts increased and snow amount stayed the same.

Snow levels down to at least 6000 feet tonight or Sunday depending where you are. Best around BEAR vALLEY ca

Still looks like best riding days after first storm of 2 plus feet and 7000 feet is Tuesday - Wed maybe Monday if there is no more storm.

Again depending where you are 1/2 " to over an inch rain at 6k Thurs Friday 11-12 mar

More snow Fri - SAT 11- 12 MAR

Suppose to be cloudy Sunday 13 MAr

Thank a 3rd storm rolling in On the 14th Monday !

There are 2 main forecasting agencies the US and Europe.

US has major (twice estimated) over estimated all season and Europe slightly underestimated.

My above statement is the Europe estimate.

The Epic Alert is a close call. Heavy Powder Alert hoisted for the Sierra (winds and snow density are keeping the epic card out). We just upgraded central Idaho, Tetons and the Wasatch to Powder Alerts for 5-12 inches. Colorado is on watch. Next weekend looks deep again in the Sierra!

Right now! We chased to Mammoth Mountain last night! Complete burial and puking! 44-53 inch storm total. 24-44 overnight.

This picture is by the Mammoth Ski Lodge which is over 9000 feet. 4 feet of heavy snow last 24 hours !!!

Most sled trails around there are in the 8000-9000 feet range.

There is sled rental shop by mammoth ski lodge and one trail thru the "restricted area" to the open areas .

Still riding in western Wyoming!- not 4' but we got fresh last night and snowed all day today 9,200'

S/C

California has spots with 6 to 9 feet ... 2 -4 feet of heavy fresh !!!!

With more on the way !!!!

For the last 3 seasons CAlifornia had very little snow ... Where I ride never more than 3 feet at 9000 feet till this year !

Last year I was able to ride 3 times where I ride on a road from 8000 to 9300 feet with only 2 feet max on the ground !!!!
Now it is go anywhere snow with 5 plus feet of trail.
