Massive amount of oil in motor

So I pull my sled out of summer storage, fire it up, smokin like crazy. Run it around the house a few times and oils blowin out bad from around the y pipe dounut. Then I take it inside and pull the pipe and like 2 tbsp's of oil run out of the pipe and theres like a 1/2 a cup of oil in the bottom of the can...

Would this be caused from the oiler getting stuck open all summer?

Anyone else had this happen?

Thanks

Did you let it idle much in the summer? Oil collects in the pipe because it doesnt get hot enough to burn off the oil in the pipe when you let it idle for a while without riding it.

Check the exhaust doughnut. It has to be on a certain way, there is a little "bump" on the gasket. If it's misaligned oil will shoot out of it.

The check valves in the oil pump are leaking., Once it clears up, it will not burn an excessive amount of oil, but the oil will seep past the pump and into your intake boots when the sled sits. As long as you don't start dumping your whole tank into your engine when it sits I would not worry too much about it. Only cure is either leave your oil tank empty during storage or replace the pump. After it sits for a couple of days you can look into your intake boots and you will probably see one or both have oil pooled in them.

a little oil in there is normal, would wait and run it on the snow the first time before i would get worried...
