Marsh Lake / China Meadows

I was up in the area last week and noticed "No snowmobiling" signs. Whats up with that??? I can understand not being able to ride in the Henry's Fork Basin as it is primitive area but Marsh Lake and China Meadows isn't.
My scout troop climbed Kings Peak and I was thinking how cool it would be to ride my sled up there.

Wilderness

That was my first thought but wasn't sure without looking at my map. Might not be current anyway. Wilderness areas are popping up faster than map production. Was really bummed to see Carter Creek gated last year. OHV's are getting choked out fast.:face-icon-small-fro

Are you talking about the Carter Creek up on the North Slope Road by the HAFB cabins?

I have a 4 day weekend coming up. It looks like I am going to be doing some long rides at the cabin to see whats going on. I can't say I am too suprised that they closed that area down. There are signs telling people to stay on the trails and roads, there are logs layed down over hill sides they don't want people riding motorcycles/ATVs on and the idiots still do it. They are the ones that will have the entire North Slope Road shut down again ato all ATVs.
On another note...still not sure why they would call Marsh lake area a wilderness and close it to sledding.... You can ride over by Meeks Cabin Res and I think it is Robertson Wyomings water shed??? Whats next? HWY 150???:yell:

This is new to me i live in mtn. view and havent heard anything about it. The boundry should be at the china meadow trail head. I dont. usually ride that far east because the boundry is so low. Maybe someone playing with the signs. The water shed is for all the little towns or the valley.
Maybe i need to take a ride and look around then go see what there story is.

I'm hoping that I'm wrong and just didn't see the signs right. I grew up at marsh lake durring the summers and want to ride up there. Let us know whats up if you get a chance.
