I keep checking in looking for some juicy discussions to follow. Nothing. Maybe some starter topic suggestions.....

Ford 6.7 is blowing up
Dodge front ends falling apart.
The Ford 6.0 is a boat anchor
The Ford 6.0 is a misunderstood sleeper motor
New Duramax coming out in 2015
How about a tire thread? Those are always fun.
Or sweet trucks pulling some sic boats to the lake this summer?

Hope everybody is having a great summer so far!

It was a long holiday weekend, folks are out celebrating and enjoying their summer.

Summers are always good for a "What's the best ....." thread.

Well, switching back to stock size tires improved my mileage by about 2 MPG.....

Switching to 35s lowered my mileage by about 2 mpgs! And on my 08 cummins I put about 118k on 37s and never touched the front end. Maybe GM should concentrate on putting a 2013 dash on their truck instead of 2008.

Oww oww I've got a good one! - Can I put a sled deck on a 1/2 ton??

No, absolutely not! Although, it seems I can put a massively overweight 70's vintage camper on mine....

Pulled my 19.5' Sea Ray behind that too.....F your diesel ;) :p
but did it get 17.5 loaded ? mine does.....yep DIESEL

How about another black truck vs. white truck poll?!?!?!?!?!

:argue:

My buddy is massively jealous of how well my white truck hides dirt, his black truck looks dirty practically the next day after washing it!

LMAO!!!

When it is clean and freshly waxed I gotta admit it does have a hell of a lot of curb appeal though!

Another vote for white. We live on a gravel road and I now despise my decision to get a 'cosmic grey' colored car. Worthless to even think about keeping it clean.

I know that pull out. Driven by it thousands of times in my 33 years in the AK. Guessing you have a cabin there?

No cabin for me, just riding ATV's in the backcountry. Last summer was the first time I decided to stop and check it out after driving by there hundreds of times heading to Eureka.

No idea, I typically drive 20 miles of dirt at 20mph in 4wd to go camping...can't imagine much gets 17mpg under those conditions. It's pretty awesome here, and my camping/sledding destinations are all within 100 miles of home, so I've never really bothered calculating loaded mpg....I imagine it's somewhere between not very good and awful? When the fun juice is empty....I put more in!

PS: My white truck was my favorite colour. Grey one right now is ok, but anything other than white shows the bush scratches too easy.

White trucks are for construction companies! Go black, you'll never...have a clean truck! Never gets dirty, as long as you keep it in the drive way. Really though, nothing gets dirtier, but nothing looks better when it's all cleaned up!

Man, the sled deck really does dirty the truck up... :face-icon-small-ton

That was on the way back down from the first ride of the season 3 years ago..... We drove about 10 miles up the gravel forest road to unload... It turned out the storm had blown a few miles farther north than we expected. We still unloaded and rode, but holy smokes was it thin!

Bought my 2012 Dodge Ram 3500 a year ago this week, I have 21,500 miles on it right now .... So far the only issues I have had are fit and finish issues ....

The shiny plastic buckle on the magazine holder behind the passenger's seat broke and I have a squeak coming from under my driver's seat.

Both of which I'm going to take in for warranty :)

No front end trouble, emissions equipment trouble, engine trouble, tranny trouble .... *knocks on wood* ;)

Mileage has improved a bit now that the motor is broken in, but not by a whole lot. These EGR trucks just don't get quite the mileage the DEF trucks do.

I'm getting 17.0 flat on the interstate at 75 mph with no wind .... 285 tires on 3.73 gears.

Not bad, but not great either.
