Man hurt at Cottonwood on Saturday

Anybody know how the guy is hurt up there on Saturday? He was riding with a rental group, and it looked like he went full throttle into the guardrail in a corner near the bowl. Very nasty wreck.

We went down the hill and notified the other guide so he could phone search and rescue.

Rumors abound in the parking lot, hope somebody has some facts.

And by the way, we passed the group several times and as far as we could see the rental guides did everything correctly.

Thats to bad. I do have to say many of those people on rentals really should not be on a snowmobile. You would think throttle and brake would be easy enough but I've seen these groups pull into the trading post many times and at least half of the time someone hits a parked car or another sled because they freak out. I usually get far out of their way when I see them!!!!! I do hope they are ok though.

slammed into guard rail and broke his pelvis.

Zachcreek showed up and helped stabilize and keep warm until S&R showed up.

Way to help out Mike!

Cottonwood Country Snowmobile Tours. They also have Buffalo Joes Whitewater Rafting. Great guys.

Tour Guide did everything right. Helped Grant out with keeping him stable and warm. They were from Louisiana on vacation. Broken Pelvis, in allot of pain. Went around a corner and might have gotten off balance and grabbed the bars. Could have been allot worse. We had space blankets, fire starter, hand warmers etc to keep him from developing hypothermia.

Nice job helping him. A pelvis FX sucks. Hurts for a long time, especially an open book blow-out.

I used to fly air ambulance, and pick people up from remote locations that had done things like that. A lot of people on quads that didn't wear helmets.
