Man dies in Nutty Putty cave

Just a really sad deal. I always really mourn for the family left behind in situations like this. God bless.

It is sad to see things like this happen around the holidays when the family is supposed to be together for the holidays. Really ruined a Thanksgiving and Christmas for everyone involved

And every Thankgiving from here on out that is what they will remember.:(

More like every day. Things like that is what makes a Holiday just another day.:(

Now they are saying that they can't get his body out and they are going to just close the cave and leave him there.

I don't think they should leave him in there. I don't see why the rescuers can't chisel away at the rock and get his body out.

This story made me sick to my stomach. I've been stuck in this cave before in a similar position as this guy. Luckily friends were able to pull me out backwards and it didn't amount to much. To this day, I will not go into caves like that again.

As far as leaving the body, I think there is a little more to the story than what the media is telling - but I will stop there. I just feel for that family. God Bless.

Are you saying that the media doesn't tell the whole story??? SHOCKING!!!

So sad. Yeah, his wife is prego and they have another little kid. Being in Med school, he had a lot of things going for him. Just goes to show how fragile life really is. That's also why I don't go into caves.

I feel very sad for the family. That being said I have two problems with this. Who on this site has picked a alternate way down or up something because we do have people at home who depend on us? And I have been to the cave before and now it sounds like I will never be able to do it again. Which is sad, it is a place I would love to show my son. Im not attacking the family or the poor guy but I ALWAYS think of Dave when I hear about tragedies like this. Talking about the mistakes and choices made that day have saved lives. That is all I mean to do here I have seen the entrance to where this young man died, I do not like tight fits so I have stayed out call me a ***** I dont care anymore I have way to much to live for to die for a dare?

Dang that’s horrible. :(

Your right there has to be more to the story if they can’t retrieve the body. I feel for all of the family and his wife and kid’s.:rose:
