Making the m good through the moguls on the way to the fresh.

OK so whats the deal with the m and moguls? Many people are complaining that they don't ride nearly as good on the trails to the fresh as they do off the trails.... What can we do to make them better? Is the HCR alot better through this stuff or does it need a revalve/spring as well? What I am looking for is should I get a regular/snopro M and revalve or is the HCR good to go out of the box? Next sled is going to be a cat 800, but It must handle the road racing to the hills. SO what am I looking at doing to get it to be a road warrior? Please don't tell me to buy a different brand as I have made up my mind, I need cats reliability. Sick and tired of broken sh!t. Also our trails are never groomed, with some as long as 20km one way. Nother ? do you need to pack extra fuel on the '10 8's? Or can you make a whole day?

Z-Bros

I have an 09 M8 SP with the Z-bros kit on it this includes all the shocks and I went to the 43 stance little wider. I don't have any issues with width. In the trees let's face it if you are questionsing at 40 inch stance (can I make it?)you should probably do the same with 43? Very happy with the investment kit will cost about $2200.00 pacjage deal. you will be pleased about the 3rd ride when you have it dielaed go with the fully adjustable stuf. very hgih quailty. Rear is simple to install and the Front is not bad but you do take the nose cone off. Sell the stock stuff to someone and recoupe some of your dough problem solved. good luck.

if you dont like the rocking dont come knocking???

I think it has alot to do with the attack angle, I got full coil over holtz rear and it still feels that way. But its 10,000 times better than the stock set up.....

long tracks and moguls are ??? not meant for each other :)

Reliability?

I have only heard the the EZ-Ryde requires more maintenace. They do work/ride good. Teh stock rear Skid works very well night and day witht he Z-bros shocks. If you want to spend another $1500 and understand the EZ will have some more maintenace then perfect, go for it.

Before spending the big $$$ on new shocks I would have all four stock shocks revalved first. I did it on both My 08 M-8 and 09 M1000 and it made a big difference in the bumps. Best $130 I have spent on any sled. GSR shock repair rocks....:face-icon-small-coo

Yup, the best $100 I have spent yet on my sled.

Then again, if you intend on riding the sled on trails routinely, wouldn't the gentleman be better off with a standard M8 over a Sno Pro? I hear the Zero Pros handle bumps MUCH better than the Fox Floats stock.

Vote for revalve from here. You should also put simple reservoir into front skid shock. This provides you can put at least ½" longer rod in the shock. After installing ½" longer shock into sled the front skid has over 1" more pure vertical travel. Anyone can understand what this means. I can't understand why factory keep installing those silly sticks in the front skid?

I revalved my skid float shock with -10 valves. I also replaced the shock piston with another which has way bigger orifice. It's not the best suspension but way more better than it was last year. Still need to pay attention to valving but I'm surely going the right way...

Dont think dont analyze,, Just send your shox to GSR send 120$ and smile when you ride:face-icon-small-hap

The biggest problem with ride quality with stock suspension on moguls, is the rebound of the shock. On your stock sled, if you push down on the rear bumper, it takes a country hour to raise back up. Think about it, if you're going down a mogul road at say even only 10 mph, your shock rebound can't keep up with it. Everything is a trade off, if you speed up the rebound (getting your shocks revalved) then the quick rebound won't be ideal for the single jump you go off, or the cornice drop because it will make you bounce after the landing more, but will be a lot better down that bumpy trail. If you have shocks that have adjustable rebounds with the turn of a knob, you can change them back and forth from the different riding conditions if you want to take the time to do it. I have an EZ-Ryde with Zbros exit shocks all around, and they are a big improvement over the stock skid and shocks. The ones I have don't have adjustable rebound but they are set up with a little faster rebound than the stock shocks were and it is noticeably better. To have the absolute best of both IMO you need fully adjustable shocks and you have to take the time to adjust them when you go from trail to open powder and vice versa.
