Making old shocks work: 2012 A-arms, 2013 sled?

So I still have my Evols from the last sled, with very little use on them. I was just thinking it would be cheaper and easier to buy a-arms for a 2012 Pro and use these shocks than selling these shocks and buying new ones and getting them set up the way I want. If I went with this route, I'd have a spare set of arms and shocks at my disposal too. Just wondering if that's perfectly fine to do or if there is some difference in model year that wouldn't allow this to work?

I've got my evol and zero-pro in the rear suspension now this spring finally and came to realize that the stock shocks are complete garbage, so now I really wanna change the fronts out.

thanks in advance!

I had the same scenario. I had X1's from my 2011 that I wanted to use on my 2013. I could have used the stock 2013 a-arms and had Zbroz rebody my X1's but I didn't like that idea. Instead, I bought Zbroz a-arms for a 2011/12 Pro and simply bolted everything on. Then I sold the shocks and a-arms off of my 2013 Pro to offset the price.

oh so they were just direct replacement 11-12 a-arms? that would work for me if the price isn't much different than stock polaris arms.

No, they are the Zbroz a-arms for a '11 or '12 Pro. I think they were $450 which is cheaper than the Polaris parts. Check them out.

Ordered 'em up! Thanks for the help there. I was confused on what I could do about a-arms. Excited that I don't hafta screw around getting another set of shocks now!

You might have issues with your Evols on the back skid. My X1 body wouldn't fit the rail. They are slightly different in '13 than '11 (not sure about '12). You can either turn them over or you might have to have the shock rebodied or sell them and buy new ones. Take a look, might not be a problem for the Evol's.

Actually, I ended up swapping suspensions with a guy with a '12 pro with similar miles because he didnt wanna tear the whole skid apart to sell me his Ice Age rails and wheels. So major score there. The fox shocks are a huge improvement over the factory pro stuff. Never even tried to install them in the factory '13 skid. I actually just was out jumpin the sled this afternoon. We just got a fresh 10" so I took advantage of the day!

Swapped in the 39" Z-Broz arms in today, threw the old pair of Evols in and bam! All new suspension for the '13 Pro. The look great, they're cheaper than polaris, and they're welded, not glued.

During install, the spindles and lower arms seemed to bind. I called Z-Broz and they assured me this is normal, and if needed, I should grind a little material off of the spindles. After steering side to side a few times and lowering the sled off the stand so the full weight of the machine was on the front suspension again they no longer contact.

Great lookin and workin product! Thanks for the advice BugIto!

Make sure they dont touch the spindle when there is no weight on the front end
(fully extended)
You dont want the spindle dragging when your climbing (skis in the air)
Makes it tough to ride

they just barely touch if the front end is off the ground. Might hafta do a tad bit of grinding on the corner of the spindle. that's what they told me they recommend anyways
