Ummm, pretty sure most other sleds contemporary to the Pro had to deal with belt deflection. And that center bearing on the primary is another thing to fail. Finally, if you're using good belts (OE or Gates are my preference), it's basically part of break-in for a new belt, and you probably only have to check it a couple times the rest of the life of the belt. I mostly run Gates C12 belts, and I find that when you hit the sweet spot, you get just a little squeal when you come to a stop as the engine idles down. Belt alignment is critical too, especially with Gates belts, but once you get them set right, you can pretty much forget it.
