You can fit a 2.25" track in your sled stock no problems. The only area of concern is the tunnel strip coolers. It is common practice to "notch" the track where the paddles line up with the coolers down about 3/8". I don't exactly recommend "notching" track lugs though, rather, whatever lugs line up on the tunnel strips I just trim the entire lug down to a height that it'll clear the coolers inside the tunnel, (again, down only 3/8") This makes one clean cut that does not promote extended lug tearing (I find nothced lugs to be tear prone) You'd be surprised at how few of the lugs actually do need trimming. As far as the front of the bulkhead is concerned, the Edge RMK's had the same clearance as a XC, so no issues with a 2" paddle up front. You do NOT need 7T drivers!!! That would be a terrible idea to attempt and would basically work towards helping your extended sled become a trencher as it would adversely affect the AOA of the track.
Also, if you "drop" your skid to accomodate a taller lug, this will also be bad for the AOA.
Get good extensions, or go all out and get 144" rails from FAST, or order a custom set by finding a company here on SW that makes them (IceAge Manu. I think)
On your stock machine, the M-10 is mounted so close to the driveshaft that if you were to install extrovert drivers they would interfere with the M-10 front arm cross shaft, this is the ONLY time I'd recommend you move the skid... and if a move became necessary I'd only recommend moving the skid straight back about 1"-1.5" and this move will require a longer track than the current skid/extensions allow.
For example, I have a 2002 Edge with a M-10 mounted 1" further back than stock, 121" rails, with 136" (7.5") extensions, 9" wheels, and a 144"x2.25" track. The tunnel is custom and 3" taller than stock, but if the tunnel was stock, I would have trimmed the lugs that interfere with the strip coolers in the tunnel.
