Major advice-arctic cat rookie

I just bought an 08' m1000, used to be polris man but not anymore. I have heard a ton on the y-pipe..... but the dealer I had mine serviced at told me to stay away from the y-pipe unless I do the fuel control box. What have you for advice on that?

if it has had the 09 update, then you will need a fuel controller for the y-pipe. if it hasn't had the update you can run the y-pipe. I had the y-pipe on mine and it ran great, did the update, it ran like crap and had to take it off.

first thing to do is put a power claw on it, but you can try a y -pipe pull your plugs a few times and see how lean it is, I don't really see the point though. Put a full pipe on with fuel controller and then you have something. One of my buddies runs a y and can on a 09 with no controller at 7000+ft, he is 60lbs lighter than me and mine with a full slp exhaust walks away from his.
